Help our junior ski jumpers jump higher.

The Snowflake Ski Club was founded in 1922. It has its roots deep in volunteerism, community spirit and good will, boasting over 500 members. That’s in a town of 2000 people. We are one of the two remaining “all volunteer” large hill ski jumping clubs in the Western hemisphere.

Located in the City of Westby, a peaceful community with Norwegian roots, the Snowflake Ski Club is proud to provide a place of entertainment and recreation, year around.

Annually, the Ski Tournament is an event the entire community gets excited about and the event attracts thousands of spectators. International and US jumpers compete on the large hill, often traveling down the jump with speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour flying for hundreds of feet. Ski jumping truly is the original extreme sport.

Our Club is very active during the summer season as well. The Snowflake Golf Course is used by hundreds of people who want to enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of Timber Coulee. And the Club House is open year round, offering great food and drink, as well as memorabilia showing Snowflake Ski Club’s rich ski jumping history.

Many Olympic and world-class ski jumpers have competed at the Snowflake Ski Jumping Complex.

The ski jump complex at Snowflake consists of six jumps all located in the same area of beautiful Timber Coulee. The largest is a 118 meter Olympic-sized hill used for national and international competitions. The Large Hill Meet is held early each winter and attracts not only U.S. ski jumpers but competitors from around the world. The five smaller hills at the site include a 65 meter hill, as well as smaller 40, 20, 10, and 5 meter hills for training junior jumpers. The junior competition is now held the same weekend as the Big Hill Tournament, so that we can get our fill of ski jumping fun in one big weekend, as well as see the Olympic ski jumpers of the future!

Snowflake has hosted numerous FIS Continental Cup and United States Ski and Snowboard Association ski jumping tournaments. Since 2011, Snowflake has hosted one of the legs of the five-hill U.S. Cup tournament.

Ski Jumping Terminology

Ski Jumping is one of the only sports scored on both objective (distance) and subjective (style) criteria.

See the “Become a Member” page to learn how to join the Snowflake Ski and Golf Club.

We are now recruiting kids aged 5-14 years old for the Snowflake Ski Club Junior Ski Jumping Team. We are putting plastic on four of our junior ski hills so that our team can practice and compete year around. This will help our team advance in the sport of ski jumping. Kids get to try ski jumping fully before making any commitment to the team or paying any fees. Equipment is provided. See the Youth Ski Jumping Page of this website for more information.

Our Club House is open year around. Come check out our fun and friendly atmosphere, as well as our daily food and drink specials. The unique Club House, featuring a fireplace and polished marble bar, is provided for your enjoyment. For your refreshment, the Club House features a full rail and a wide selection of domestic beers. You’ll also find the building filled with ski jump memorabilia, spanning our entire ski jumping history.

Make sure to check out the “Snowflake Golf Course & Bar” facebook page for bar hours, specials, and events.

The Snowflake Ski Club offers a beautiful nine-hole, par-three golf course at the base of its ski jumps. Nestled between the scenic bluffs of Timber Coulee, the well maintained course has a beautiful spring-fed stream running through it. Open through three of Southwest Wisconsin’s wonderful seasons, the course features inviting fairways and immaculately manicured greens.

The golf course’s natural beauty and a friendly atmosphere will invite you to return again and again. Whether you are an accomplished player or just someone looking for a relaxing atmosphere, Snowflake’s Golf course has something for everyone. Please call us in advance for tee times.
